The Seniors Spark Programs are a series of Free, fun, welcoming activities designed to support older adults and caregivers across the Hamilton region. Through physical activity, health education, and social connection—all under one roof—we help you spark your strength, your curiosity, and your social life.

Whether you’re easing back into fitness, looking to boost your well-being, or ready for a friendly chat over coffee, there’s a Spark Session waiting for you.

What Makes Seniors Spark So Special?

Seniors Spark is more than a program—it’s a movement to spark joy, resilience, and community connection.

Available at no cost to participants, each Spark activity is thoughtfully designed to:

  • Spark Strength through gentle, ability-inclusive fitness classes
  • Spark Knowledge with wellness education and health resources
  • Spark Connection through social gatherings that make you feel seen, heard, and supported

Physical Wellness Programs

Designed to meet you where you are—these classes help you spark energy, balance, and confidence at your own pace.

  • Walkercise (Weekly)
    Spark movement! Enjoy upbeat, walker-friendly fitness with music, rhythm, and fun that gets your body (and spirits) moving.
  • Chair Yoga (Biweekly)
    Spark flexibility and calm. A seated yoga class that enhances joint health and stress relief for all ability levels.
  • Stretch & Strengthen (Biweekly)
    Spark your balance and strength with low-impact exercises, bands, and weights designed for gentle movement and core support.
  • Caring for the Caregivers Fitness (Biweekly)
    Spark resilience. This one’s for caregivers—and anyone who needs a mindful, feel-good stretch to recharge. Seated and standing options included.
  • Falls Prevention (Seasonal, 12-week sessions)
    Spark confidence. Build strength and stability in a supportive environment with practical tips and assessments to help prevent falls.

Social & Educational Gatherings

Because wellness isn’t just about exercise—it’s also about sparking conversation, friendships, and curiosity.

  • Health & Hydration Social Meet-Ups (Biweekly)
    Spark connection! Join us at our cozy café for casual conversation, refreshing drinks, light snacks, and simple tips to stay well.
  • Monthly Health Talks
    Spark awareness. Friendly, down-to-earth presentations from our nursing staff and wellness experts on topics like nutrition, chronic disease, and mental health.
